SLCC Giving Day FAQs

Why is SLCC hosting a day of giving? When is SLCC Giving Day?

SLCC is acting on this important day to increase awareness and create positive change for its students. Giving Day gives new and established donors a unique opportunity to engage with Salt Lake Community College and show their support for our students. Together, with the support of corporate and private donations, we can make the educational dreams of our incredible students a reality and help more of them succeed in reaching their goals.

After a successful #GivingTuesdayNow on May 5, 2020, SLCC chose to launch its own giving day which coincides with National Random Acts of Kindness Day.

The College’s first-ever SLCC Giving Day is a 1,948-minute (in honor of the year SLCC was founded in 1948) community awareness/engagement event and fundraising celebration. SLCC Giving Day begins at 8 a.m., Feb. 17, 2021, and ends at 4:28 p.m., Feb. 18, 2021.

SLCC’s Giving Day Fundraising Goal is $100,000. Why $100,000?

Our goal to raise $100,000 is ambitious and mirrors the dramatic need of our students. We know that amount can make a significant difference for our students by not only increasing the number of scholarships we can provide but also the scholarship amounts awarded. In turn, this helps removes obstacles many of our students face and helps put them on a path to successfully earning their degree and certificate and move on to build the future foundation of our community.
